Rupert Pinder has extensive experience in public sector finance, economic regulations (communications sector), and academia.
He graduated from McGill University, Montreal (Quebec), Canada, in 1997 with a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economic Policy Management. Before completing his studies at McGill, he matriculated at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, completing a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.) with Honors in Economics and Management.
Mr. Pinder is currently an associate professor of economics at the College of Business at the University of The Bahamas. Before rejoining the faculty at the University, he would have served in senior roles in the area of economic regulations, having served as Director of Electronic Communications at the Utilities Regulation and Competition Authority (URCA) and regulatory economist/senior manager at The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) Limited. In addition to his roles in economic regulations, Mr. Pinder would have served several years in the public sector as a Budget Analyst and trade economist with the Ministries of Finance and Economic Development, respectively.
An avid sports fan, who enjoys reading in his leisure time.
